The Climate Carbon Curve

This graphs shows the Global Warming Index plotted versus cumulative carbon dioxide emissions. The CO₂ data was obtained from the 2018 Carbon Budget provided by the Global Carbon Project. The yellow line is drawn by connecting the first and last data point, and extended outwards to the future. The pink cone comes from estimating the uncertainty in the slope of the yellow line. The slope of the the yellow line is a measure of the 'effective transient response of the climate to cumulative carbon emissions' (effective TCRE).
